Antik Cagda Ionia bolgesi fiziki, kulturel ve kavramsal anlamda cesitli parcalardan olusuyordu. Bu bolgeler hicbir zaman statik olmamıs ve degisken bir yapıya sahip olmuslardır. Bu degisken yapı arkeolojik olarak tespit edilebilen bir surectir. Bu konferansta yerlesim tipleri dikkate alınarak, Eskicag’da Ionia Bolgesi’nin tarihi ve arkeolojik degisimleri, farklı perspektifler icinde irdelenecektir.

Konferans tum lisansustu ogrenciler, bilim adamları ve arkeologlara acıktır. Konferansın ana teması antik Ionia Bolgesi’dir. Antik Cag’da Ionia Bolgesi Foca’dan Milet/Didim’e kadarki kıyı seridi ile 70 km’lik ic kısımları kapsar. Konferansın kronolojik fokusu İ.O. 1200 ile İ.S. 700 arasındaki devirlerdir.

Konferans sonrasında İzmir icindeki muzeler ve orenyerlerine iki gunluk arkeolojik geziler duzenlenecektir.

Konferansin programi ektedir.
